Dubrovnik Excursions

The Croatian Athens

Dubrovnik’s spectacular old town jutting out into the Adriatic Sea is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Europe’s best-preserved old towns. The Walls of Dubrovnik were never breached and they are considered one of the great fortifications of the Middle Ages. The limestone paved Stradun street with its fabulous Old Town architecture leads to Onofrio’s Fountain. On to ZudioskaUlica – Jewish Street – and the Jewish ghetto which was established in 1546, making it is one of the oldest in Europe. Dubrovnik boasts an active Jewish community center and museum. The Dubrovnik synagogue is one of the most cherished sites of Jewish culture in this part of the world. It combines a 13th century Gothic structure with a 17th century Sephardic interior. The original Jewish cemetery of Dubrovnik can also be visited upon request. Rivalling Venice with its beauty and maritime commerce, Dubrovnik and Jewish Dubrovnik are must-see gems of Europe.

General sites such as the Franciscan and the Dominican monasteries, Sponza Palace, St. Blaise Church, Rector’s Palace and the Cathedral can also be integrated into the tour upon request.  At the end of this full day tour you will have gained a comprehensive overview of both historic and contemporary Dubrovnik from our very own perspective!
